Interview with Aurora Wold: Founder of Aurora Grace Chocolates!

This week, TWEE interviewed Aurora Wold for our Woman Crush Wednesday Series highlighting woman entrepreneurs and change-makers!

Aurora Wold is the head chocolatier, founder, and genius behind one of TWEE's favorite confectionaries, Philadelphia's own Aurora Grace Chocolates!

Tell us about Aurora Grace Chocolates? -What was the “Aha” moment?

After years of working in the restaurant industry and moving to Philly, I wanted to continue to hone my craft which through practice at home left me with an excess of chocolates and macarons I began to sell online and at markets. Once I saw the overwhelming response to the product I began looking for a space to produce out of which happened to have a retail front. 18 months in the store was born!

What inspired you to pursue the culinary arts?

I loved to get outside and walk in nature or you might find me baking cookies in the kitchen!

Something outside my control impacting my business.

My cat’s purr. Her name is Pickles.

What is your motto?

So it goes.

What is your most marked characteristic?

My dedication to perfection and willingness to do whatever it takes to get it done to the height of my or my team’s abilities.

Macarons or cupcakes?

Cupcakes. Don’t get me wrong macarons are good but eat a few thousand and ask yourself!!

Sherbet or ice cream?

Gelato/sorbetto. The best of them all!
